No plays on any system today. Makes sense seeing how there’s only 3 games. This has been a pretty crappy end of May but the good thing is it’s only May. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. We got about 3 months left so I’m not sweating our most recent setback.
I’ll update the records tonight when I get home. But here’s a little fun fact, the Braves and Dodgers have lost me roughly 50 units this past week. Love that National League.

Want to make it clear that I am not actually betting these plays until further notice but will keep posting the Series Chase until at least the All-Star break. Figured we all should enjoy watching this stupid piece of crap burn. It’s personally accountable for losing me 27.96 units THIS WEEK.
I guess the bright side of this coin is that it happened early in the season where it’s not a huge hit monetary wise. I change the size of my unit every week in relation to my BR and this would be a whole lot more brutal in August than it is now. But with all that said, this lil setback is just that; A little setback. The Streak Chase is good for around 115 units and that’s including its eventual losses. 5Run is good for around 100 and Under .470 about another 65. The Home Favorites combined should add another 30 or so units and the newly acquired RPI Chase seems to be good for another 60. Outside of being lil red numbers in my ledger this isn’t that big of a deal.

Feels like we’re just a glutton for punishment from the Braves. Won’t lie though, I’m halfway tempted to play this series as games 5, 6, and 7 of the last series. I mean c’mon, can the Braves really lose 3 straight at home after being swept? **Just looked it up and the answer to that is no, though it has only happened once. And they’re 2-1 at home after losing at least 4 road games in a row. Though that one loss ended up being the begining of a 3 game sweep. Pulling this move is how people end up selling their hair to a wig shop.

If only the Braves series was a 3 gamer like I initially thought and not a 4 gamer… Would have saved us 7.88 units. Instead it was a nice 15.84 unit hit. Ouch. Good thing we built up a solid buffer so losses like this aren’t really that big of a deal. Glad though we didn’t do something stupid like take them +1.5 or even +1. Then the loss would’ve been borderline catastrophic (at least for this system). But taking them as dogs definitely saved us some units.
I’m not yet going to abandoned the Series Chase because of it’s killer success last year. But I don’t feel good about the fact that we’ve already surpassed last years total losses (2) and we’re only 27 games into the season. The way I’m looking at it, it needs to win it’s next 14 chases or it’s done. That’s roughly what each chase loss is worth.
For Brian, here are the numbers you asked for. I don’t have unit breakdowns yet because I never set my ledger up last year to calculate the breakdowns for this chase because it never lost and I didn’t see the point. But I’ll set it up and get you those later today.

Big game today. Originally thought that this was another loss for this chase. It had me rethinking things because this is the only losing system in the arsenal. Thankfully we got a game 4. Even though they’re dogs the juice is too high for a game 4 to play them on the runline. Maybe the +1 RL @ -154? But as of now we’re taking them ML. Let’s go Braves!
One more thing. If you noticed the record magically gained .04 units, you’re not imagining things. I messed up adding somewhere and I trust excel’s automatic calculation better than my manual ones. I thought about going back through the records and finding out exactly where it happened but then realized going through 42 series is not worth it just to find .04 units. If you don’t like it and think I’m padding my stats or something, change the channel and I’ll send you a refund check. It’ll come in 6-8 bussiness weeks. Found it. 5/22/2012 NY Yankees game. It was +.64 units, not .60.
